Question: Do you still make ABC color?
Sam from Wissmach said: While Wissmach has discontinued a small handful of colors over the years because a key ingredient became difficult or impossible to source, the answer to this question is most often YES.
Just because you don’t see it online doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Here are some quick facts:
- Wissmach produces over a thousand color formulas.
- Wissmach produces twenty different textures.
- Any Wissmach texture can be applied to any Wissmach glass. So that’s over 20,000 color/texture combination possibilities.
- While we work with our photographer slowly and steadily to document more and more of what we make, the glass images shown online and in our printed catalogs represent only a small selection of our entire glass line. Contact the factory to request an actual glass sample for any of the missing images.
We make what distributors order. (No single distributor stocks everything we make.) We always make a little more than the quantity ordered to account for the unexpected things that can happen in a handmade manufacturing process and to ensure we can fulfill their shipment. Then anything leftover goes into our small Factory Outlet. (<This is why we can’t tell you what we will have in stock there at any given time.)
If you can’t find your favorite color, texture, or color/texture combination, talk to your favorite local distributor about adding it to their next order. Many of the shops in our distributor network are happy to place special orders on behalf of their customers, too. When we combine these special orders with a distributor’s regular inventory order, it’s a great way to get what you want much more economically and conveniently than ordering a few sheets directly from us. While anyone can technically order directly from us, because we are not structured like a retail store, there are factors that make this process unappealing to most individual artists.
