Please never cap luminescent glass, this is a sure way of loosing it. Use the luminescent as your lowest level, the luminescent coated side toward the kiln shelf.
I created a great kiln carved project with Wissmach black luminescent glass in 96 COE. I full fused the project face down with a layer of clear on the top..
Now, I would like to slump the corners of the 10″ x 10″ panel I created on a square ceramic slumping mold similar (BE 8972). Does the luminescent finish fire off at slumping temperature too? or is there a lower temperature threshold that the luminescent glass can withstand face up?
Alternatively, I heard that it may be possible to put a sheet of Thinfire over the top when I put it on the slumping mold. Can you advise me?
Can you put the luminescent glass face down on a piece of clear glass and still maintain the sheen?
